Play stats you can share: cards, embeds, and live link previews
by Moffer Team
When play counts went live, we called them the start of a stats story and promised per-track breakdowns and time-based charts. Here’s the next chapter: stats you can take with you.
Share a stat card
Open Share stats on any track you own and Moffer renders a 1200×630 image - cover art, the play count in big type, the weekly trend, and the Moffer mark. Three ways to take it with you:
- Download the PNG.
- Share opens your device’s share sheet - straight into Messages, Instagram, wherever.
- Copy image link puts two things on your clipboard: the hosted image URL (paste it into Discord, a forum, a Markdown doc - it renders as the image) and a ready-made HTML snippet for blogs and newsletters: a clickable image that links back to your track.
Link previews show the number now
Share a track link anywhere previews unfurl - social posts, messages, link roundups - and instead of cover art alone, the preview shows the stat card with the current play count. Your momentum is the first thing people see, before they click anything.
Your dashboard has a chart
Plays over time - the time-based chart we promised:
- Windows: 7d, 30d, 90d, or All, Bandcamp-style.
- Tap a day for that day’s per-track split.
- A leaderboard ranking your tracks over the window, split by plays on your site vs plays from your embeds - so you know where the listening actually happens.
Why share a number
A play count that moves is proof - better than any claim you could write about your own release. And every shared card carries a link home, so the number does the introducing: someone sees 1,200 plays on a track they’ve never heard and clicks through.
Try it
Play something on the marketplace, then open Share stats on one of your own tracks. Want the whole catalog’s numbers? They’re waiting on your dashboard.
What stat should we build next - listener locations, play duration, something else? Tell us.
