Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address, first and last name (optional), and username. If you are a creator, you may also provide a bio, social links, and a profile image.

Wallet address. If you choose to pay or get paid in crypto, you link an Ethereum-compatible wallet address. This address is stored in our database and is displayed publicly on your profile so that payments can be routed to you.

Payment information (card payments). If you pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, your payment details are entered directly into Stripe's hosted checkout and processed by Stripe. Moffer never receives or stores your card number. We store a reference to the Stripe checkout session for each sale. If you are a creator receiving card payouts, we store the Stripe Connect account ID Stripe issues you and whether payouts are enabled; Stripe, not Moffer, collects and verifies any identity or bank information needed to pay you out.

Content you upload. Audio files, images, documents, and other files you upload to the platform are stored on our servers and may be displayed to other users according to your privacy settings.

Transaction data. We record purchases, tips, and revenue distributions associated with your account. Crypto transactions are also publicly recorded on the Base network and are visible to anyone.

Usage data. We may collect information about how you use the Service, including pages visited, search queries, and device/browser type, to improve the platform.

Communications. If you contact us or send messages through the platform, we retain those communications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and maintain your account
• To process transactions and route payments to your wallet or connected Stripe account
• To display your public profile and content to other users
• To send you transactional emails (e.g., purchase confirmations, invite notifications)
• To respond to your support requests and inquiries
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
• To improve and develop the platform

3. Information We Share

Publicly visible information. Your username, profile image, artist page, content listings, and wallet address (if you've added one) are visible to other users and may be indexed by search engines. Crypto transactions involving your wallet address are permanently public on the Base network.

We do not sell your data. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Payment processing. Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments and creator payouts are handled by Stripe. Stripe acts as an independent data controller for the payment details you give it directly and is bound by its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/privacy.

Service providers. We may share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g., email delivery, server hosting). These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us.

Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Moffer, our users, or the public.

4. Blockchain, Wallet, and Card Payment Data

Crypto payments, tips, and revenue distributions on Moffer are processed via smart contracts on the Base blockchain. Once a transaction is submitted to the blockchain, it is permanent and publicly visible to anyone, regardless of your account settings. Your wallet address is a public identifier and is not considered private data on the blockchain.

Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments do not touch the blockchain. They are processed entirely by Stripe under Stripe's own security and compliance program; Moffer stores only a reference to the Stripe checkout session and, for creators, a Stripe Connect account ID (never your card number).

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data from our active systems within a reasonable time, except where retention is required for legal or legitimate business purposes (such as transaction records).

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted storage and secure HTTPS connections. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You are responsible for keeping your account password and wallet private key secure. We will never ask for your private key or seed phrase.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete your information. To exercise these rights, contact us at legal@moffer.co. Note that we cannot delete data that is permanently recorded on the blockchain.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
